Series & Author of the Month – @E_L_James & Fifty Shades of Grey

There are a few reasons why I chose this author and series(?). One reason is  the controversy surrounding the books, another reason is the mixed reviews, and finally because it has riled up the BDSM community (people in the lifestyle) as well as writers of the genre. I love controversy, don’t you?

But Ana always knew that loving her Fifty Shades would not be easy and being together poses challenges neither of them ever anticipated. Ana must somehow learn to share Christian’s opulent lifestyle without sacrificing her own integrity, identity, or independence; Christian must somehow overcome his compulsion to control and lay to rest the horrors that blighted his past and haunt his present. • I didn’t like this series very much I have to say, but then I don’t like the Twilight books either, so I probably shouldn’t have been so surprised! I hope you enjoy it though, but for me the writing and the characters didn’t work, but I know lots of people who think I am crazy for not immediatly wanting to throw my knickers at Christian Grey =D

  • Interesting, I am not really a big into this type of book, mainly because i prefer the physical relationships to be secondary to the story. Thanks for sharing it 🙂

    • Kimberly,
That’s where the whole controversy thing comes from. There seems to be some sort of misunderstanding about the whole representation of the BDSM and love relationships that people feel aren’t represented as they should. I have read all sort of point of views about it. It is completely understandable, I too enjoy the HEA sort of stories where there isn’t just sex but there is an actual love connection.

      Thanks for stopping by!
