Description: Chloe Blake has a unique gift, an odd connection to her house that results in glimpses of the past, present, and future via the picture window in her living room. Unfortunately, it’s a gift that sometimes proves to be more of a curse. Especially when she tries to help out Ethan Reynolds, the gorgeous boy who lives across the street – an endeavor that, for some reason, always seems to backfire.
Or leave her covered in mud.
But the house is convinced Ethan’s life is in danger and Chloe’s the only one who can save him. The problem is, he thinks she’s more than a little crazy.
REVIEW: Window is a short nicely executed YA paranormal that leaves you craving for more. The story though short has the elements of a complete novel. The plot flows nicely, Chloe has been able to see the past, present and glimpses of a possible future since she was a child. The gift was passed to her by her mother who died when she was born, the interesting thing is that her visions doesn’t come to her while she is sleeping, or while in a trance, these flashes are shown to her through a window.
Chloe is a sweet character. She is a good friend, she is caring and she is in-love with Ethan her neighbor who was once a very good friend. Their friendship tooked a turn for the worse while trying to warn him about a possible incident, her warning turned into her worse nightmare when she caused him to have an accident, from that day on his parents prohibit them to be friends. Years past and her longing and love for Ethan only increased. Now that the Window has shown what could happen to Ethan she must find a way to save him from danger, his future may be interrupted and she has to find the way to stop it from happening. What’s great about this story is the friendship between Chloe & Miranda. I like how these two interact, their dialog is simple yet it feels real.
This story has great elements, the paranormal which I like, the romance which is sweet and the characters which I think were great. For a short story this read has it all. I am looking forward to reading more from T.M Franklin’s. I recommend Window if you want a fast read with an engaging plot, sweet new romance and spunky and realistic dialog.
