My marriage seemed perfect from the outside looking in.
People envied me. They wanted my life, wanted to be me.

Mrs Alejandra Gambino.
Wife of Dino Gambino. Daughter of Eduardo Castillo.
Respected. Loved. Mob royalty.

They had no idea of the horrors that lurked behind closed doors.
They didn't know I was at the lowest point a person could reach.

Enter Julius Carter.
Aloof, handsome, blue-eyed Julius Carter.

He saved me.
I screwed him over.

Now everybody was after me. My life was forfeit.
It was only a matter of time. I was a dead woman walking.

The question was, who would get to me first?

REVIEW: Dirty is book #2 in the Raw Family series by Belle Aurora. When I first came across Raw I was intrigued by the premise and the promise from the author that it  wasn’t a HEA story. Now that we have finally gotten to read book #2 in the series I came to understand what the author meant by that statement.

Dirty transport us back to the world where Twitch, Julius & Ling seem to thrive in. The story is told from different points of view which allows the reader to be transported to a high speed highway of emotions. The story is mostly Julius story, it does entwine Twitch and even Ling’s stories and while these characters seem to choose their own path in life, destiny seems to carry out these events without them having much control of the outcome.

In Dirty we see a whole different set of rules put in place, these characters take onto themselves to serve as punishers and executioners. Early in the story we meet Alejandra – a mob daughter whose destiny has already been chosen for her, her only responsibility is to make sure her union with another mob lord keep the peace between the families. But as the story develops we learn how different reality is for Alejandra and what she thought would be a beautiful union and life turned into any woman’s worse nightmare.

Julius has always lived by certain unspoken rules, and deviating from them can mean death, that’s why he sticks to the rules and makes sure nothing sets him off course. Ling on the other hands love bending rules, causing chaos and altering people’s life as often and as fast as she likes her sex. Twitch is living in the background of a world that was supposed to take his life but instead is giving him the chance to get his life back, but not without testing his endurance and ability to control his impulses.

Dirty explores all sort of emotions and heights, I think the author did a great job mixing and entwining these characters life while also giving us a glimpse into their struggles and harsh reality. From the moment we meet these characters one can’t help enjoy and give into their story. The author managed to give us these characters in a whole new light, from how they deal with loss to how they deal with love, it all comes nicely together into a story that has it all, raw passion, death, betrayal and friendship. I enjoyed Dirty very much, I think these characters seem a lot more mature and rounded than what we witness in Raw. The author combined these characters emotions and passion to deliver a story that puts readers on edge while also exploring a difficult subject matter. Dirty is nicely executed, while at times the story drags the author found a way to bring it all together and giving the reader an exciting and exhilarating roller coaster ride.
