Most fairy tales end with a happily ever after.
This is not a fairy tale. He is not her Prince Charming about to whisk her away into the sunset. This is a story about betrayal, lust, desire and, ultimately, revenge...
And revenge can only lead to one thing.

REVIEW: Deviant is an erotic contemporary romance and book #1 in the series by the same name. This is my first book by Jaimie Roberts and it isn’t likely to be the last.

Deviant follows the story of 3 friends who found themselves making mistakes that will forever change their relationship. Tyler was very small when she met Dean and she was already friends with Ian. As they grew, Tyler and Dean kept getting closer and closer. While Ian was still part of the friendship, his friendship with Tyler and Dean was not longer as strong.

As the years passed Dean and Tyler got closer and feelings developed. But while Dean & Tyler’s relationship kept morphing from friendship to love, Ian was being kept in the background as the shadow of the good friends they once were. The story then takes us into adulthood, to a new level of friendship where Dean is not longer part of. But Ian keeps a constant shadow and still friends with Tyler.  The story continues showing us bits and pieces of these characters life and how they entwine with one another.

As time passes, we meet a mature and beautiful Tyler, the woman whose life has taken the path she wanted to see herself on. We also learn about Tyler’s secret desires and her need to have them satisfied. As a woman who knows what she wants, Tyler’s sexual needs come to a reality when a sexy stranger starts to visit her. Under any regular circumstances Tyler would’ve run to the police,  but she finds herself enjoying the secrecy & illicitness while thriving in the danger that this new relationship brings. The stranger brings passion, domination, and a sensuality Tyler didn’t feel she was capable of. What starts as a silly and at times annoying habit by the strangers turns into a sensual and sexual force that awakens Tyler’s body, mind, and soul.

For a long time, this stranger keeps visiting Tyler, and she keeps him as a secret. The only thing Tylers wishes is to get closer and will him to open up to her. But as the story unravels we learn that while Tyler may be enjoying her new sexual awakening, the despair that will follow is as deep and dark as the man who takes her body in the dark.

Deviant is a very enjoyable story, the flare of forbidden and dangerous makes it story a page-turner. The plot unravels quickly, and while it does we learn a great deal about these characters. The author did a superb job creating these characters, they are strong, intelligent and passionate. They are bound by love, desire, passion and lust. Deviant can easily be one of those stories one can read more than once. From the characters witty and at times fun personality to the sensual and sexual chemistry they share.

Deviant is a story that readers will not easily forget. I will be reading book 2 because I am very curious to see what the future has in stored for these characters. I will make sure to add Jaimie Roberts to the list of authors to keep an eye on.
