The Acquisition has ruled my life, ruled my every waking moment since Sinclair Vinemont first showed up at my house offering an infernal bargain to save my father’s life. Now I know the stakes. The charade is at an end, and Sinclair has far more to lose than I ever did.

But this knowledge hasn’t strengthened me. Instead, each revelation breaks me down until nothing is left but my fight and my rage. As I struggle to survive, only one question remains. How far will I go to save those I love and burn the Acquisition to the ground?

REVIEW: Sovereign is the conclusion of this explosive and sexy series. In this last installment the Acquisition comes to an end and the winner takes all. But before the winner gets to that final blow, a lot happens. Stella has proven not only to Sinclair that she wants to win but also has proven that she is a fighter.

Stella is a great character, she came a long way since becoming part of the Acquisition and she has proven time and time again that she is more than just someone fighting to gain a spot in Sinclair’s heart and fortune. Her schemes are fantastic and her machinations put many other characters to shame.

This installment brought a lot more action and excitement to the series and it is a shame it has come to an end. The way in which each scene played out was fantastic, Stella’s need to survival goes beyond the primal need to stay alive, there was a lot more on the table and her winning means the end of a legacy. Celia Aaron put together a great set of characters and a story that draws the reader deeply into a world of money, deceit, chaos and power. The level of complexity in Stella & Sinclair relationship becomes even more so as the competition in the story comes to a climax. Stella must make decisions that may either save her or change her life forever.

Sovereign had a completely different feel to it, from the moment you start reading it you know Stella, Sinclair and Lucius had their work cutout for them, and while we don’t necessarily know the outcome we can pretty much accept that Stella is not going down without a fight. This last installment read almost as a chapter of The Hunger Games, the competition between Acquisitions became fierce and bloody, it was all in for blood without fear of consequences. I really enjoyed the action and machinations of this installment, it was thrilling and fascinating to see these characters meeting their demise while also seeing the fall of the Sovereign & the raise of Sinclair.
