For three years, I've belonged to Julius King.

Some people would think being stuck on a private island is heaven, but this is my hell.
Because I'm not here as a guest. Not even close. I'm a prisoner. I'm his.
Julius King. Powerful. Wealthy. Dangerous.

There are parts of me he wants that I can't give him. When he looks at me, there are times I swear he sees someone else. And the scary part is that sometimes, when he touches me, I think he may be someone else, too.

Though my body might be tempted, and he might control everything else, I can't let him have any piece of my heart. I won't. But every day, the fight gets harder, and Julius manages to slip past my defenses in the most unexpected ways.

I have to find out the truth about Julius King. Even if it destroys me.

REVIEW: King’s Captive is the first book I read by Amber A. Bardan and it will not be the last. King’s Captive takes us on a roller-coaster ride of emotions that wrecks the heart.

This story is captivating as it is mind boggling, and emotional. The story starts by introducing us to Sarah, a young girl who lives under the thumb of a controlling father. But while things seem normal for any eighteen years old, Sarah’s idea of normal was far from the truth. What Sarah believes to be her reality it isn’t more than Julius attempt to open her eyes to the true reality, a reality that even though it hurts it is theirs.

While the story itself is unique, the characters aren’t necessarily so. Sarah is a young woman who finds herself kidnapped by a man she feels a deep sexual connection and attraction. She finds him captivating while also maddening, she finds him dangerous while also interesting she finds him beautiful while also hating the power that his beauty has over her emotions and body.

Kings’ Captive takes the reader into the world of money, family mafia, crime, and vengeance. The characters while not perfect, they deliver an impactful story that evokes strong emotions. Their story and their actions at times seem reckless but while it may be so, there a purpose and reason behind it. The author did a great job giving us an interesting story that exploits these characters past, present, and future. The story is written in a way that makes it difficult for the reader to draw conclusions. King’s Captive explores the raw reality of a set of characters that have a deep and unbreakable connection. Julius and Sarah give us a great love story that transcends time, murder and the dirty tricks life throw at them.

Overall, King’s Capture is an interesting story with great characters. The author gives us a story that explores loyalty, love & a forever promise. It is beautifully written and detailed, readers looking for a story with high emotions should definitely read King’s Captive.
